You will be collected from your hotel for a tour taking in some of Havana’s contemporary art scene. There are over 70 artists’ studios in Havana and typically you will visit four or five, encompassing photography, painting, ceramics and printing.
Your guide will explain more about the work of the different artists and you’ll have the chance to speak to each artist in their studio and uncover the meaning behind their work which often has interesting political and historic significance.
In these changing times in Cuba many artists are particularly prolific and their work offers an insight into the feeling of Cuban people towards their country and its future.
There is also the opportunity to purchase pieces directly from the artists. If you are interested in purchasing anything your guide can help organise payment by deposit and bank transfer, as well as delivery so you don’t need to carry vast amounts of cash with you.
